2. Information We Collect
2.1 Automatically Collected Data
When you use PantryPal Next, we automatically collect certain information about your device and usage:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- IP Address: Your approximate location based on IP address
- App Usage Data: Features used, screens viewed, time spent in app
- Crash Logs: Technical data to diagnose and fix app crashes
- Advertising ID: Mobile advertising identifiers (GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS) — collected only with your consent where required by law

We collect information that you voluntarily provide when using the App:
- Account Information: Email address, password (encrypted), user ID
- Profile Information: Display name, profile photo (optional)
- User-Generated Content: Pantry items, shopping lists, budget information, recipe data, notes and preferences
- Social Features: Friend connections, shared shopping lists
- Support Communications: When you contact us for help, we collect your email, name, and message content
2.3 Advertising & Analytics Data
Through Google AdMob and similar advertising and analytics providers, we may collect, subject to your consent preferences:
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks, impressions)

- User engagement with advertisements

2.4 Location Data
We collect approximate location data (city/region level) based on your IP address to:
- Show region-appropriate content

We do NOT collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly enable it for a specific feature.

4. Advertising & Third-Party Services
4.1 Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. We request your permission through Apple's ATT framework on iOS or a consent form on Android before showing personalized ads.
4.2 Apple App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
We will only use your IDFA for personalized advertising if you grant permission through the iOS prompt.
4.3 Other Third-Party Services
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, storage, analytics, crash reporting.
- Push Notifications: For updates and reminders.

We retain account data while active and content until deleted. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

PantryPal Next is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
